Fees & Rebates

Fees

Our standard fee for private psychology services with a clinical psychologist is $240.00 per session (after Medicare rebates, $98.15 out-of-pocket), and $200 for a session with a clinical psychologist registrar (after Medicare rebates, $103.35 out-of-pocket). Therapy sessions last around 50 to 60 minutes. Cognitive and educational assessments take a number of hours, varying depending on the purpose and requirements of the assessment; feel free to contact us to discuss this in more detail.

We will provide you an invoice after your session. Payments are expected to be made by bank transfer on the day of the session. You do not require a referral to access the service, however, you might want to consider the following options for rebates.

Medicare

You may be eligible to receive a Medicare rebate for up to 10 therapy sessions each calendar year. Your GP would need to assess you and write a referral for psychological services (a Mental Health Treatment Plan). Mental Health Treatment Plans are initially for 6 sessions; after 6 sessions you need to return to your GP to receive a new referral for a further 4 sessions. More information about how you can make a Medicare rebate claim after a session with us can be found here.

The current Medicare rebates are:

  • $141.85 rebate for each session with a clinical psychologist.
  • $96.65 rebate for each session with a clinical psychologist registrar.

Private Health Fund

Most private health funds offer rebates for psychological services. These rebates vary from one private fund to another and also depend on your level of cover. Please check rebate details with your health fund.

NDIS, Other Insurance Schemes, & Employee Assistance Programs

We provide services under third party insurance schemes such as the National Disability Services Scheme (NDIS), Workers’ Compensation,  Motor Injury Insurance, and Employee Assistance Programs.

If you have a disability, have been involved in an accident, or are experiencing mental health issues at work, you might be eligible to receive cover from an insurance provider or your workplace. Please discuss with your insurance, employer, and/or lawyer possible cover for psychological services.

Financial Hardship

Feel free to discuss a payment arrangement when you call us to organise an appointment.

Cancellations

If you are unable to attend a session, please give us 48 hours notice or a cancellation fee may apply. If no notice is given for a missed session, the full fee may be charged. If less than 48 hours is given, 50% of the session fee may be charged.
